In Missouri, foreclosures are often nonjudicial, which means the lender does not have to sue you in court to sell your house. It is required, however, to present you with specific notifications prior to selling your house. If you have a defense to the foreclosure, you may be able to challenge it in a separate case. If you lose your house in a Missouri foreclosure and the sale profits do not equal the amount owing on the mortgage, the lender has the right to sue you for the “deficiency.”
