How Much Does an LLC in Alaska Cost?
The fee for filing an Alaska LLC online is $250.

The major expense of founding an LLC is the $250 filing fee with the Alaska Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development to submit your LLC’s Articles of Organization online.

Fee for Registered Agent

You may be your own registered agent in Alaska, but employing a registered agent service keeps your firm in compliance, informs you of critical filing dates, and helps you avoid late fines.

Fee for renewing an Alaska business licence: $50

Every year, Alaska LLCs must renew their state business licence. The renewal price is usually $50, however it has been suspended since February 2021. Companies that offer tobacco or nicotine-containing goods must pay an extra $100 endorsement charge.

A Business License Renewal Application (Form 08-4617) may be submitted online, via mail, fax, or in person.

The Cost of Creating a Foreign LLC in Alaska

If you currently have an LLC established in another state and want to expand into Alaska, you must register your LLC as a foreign LLC in Alaska.

The fee for forming an Alaska foreign LLC is $350. A foreign LLC may be registered in Alaska by submitting a Certificate of Registration of a Foreign Limited Liability Company online, via mail, by fax, or in person.

There are several extra costs involved with forming an LLC:

Reservation of an LLC Name:

To reserve your name for up to 120 days prior to LLC formation, file a Business Name Reservation Form (Form 08-559) and pay the $25 filing fee. This may be done through email, mail, fax, or in person.

DBA (Doing Business As) Name:

To design a name different than your official LLC company name, fill out a Business Name Registration Form (Form 08-557) and pay the $25 filing fee. This may be done through email, mail, fax, or in person.

Copies of Documents:

Order certified copies of your Alaska business paperwork from the Secretary of State for $10 per copy and an extra $5 for certified copies.

Compliance Certificate:

This document, also known as an Alaska certificate of good standing, may be obtained by obtaining one from the Department of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development and paying the $10 charge. Banks and financial institutions often need a certificate of compliance.
