The Indiana Secretary of State’s INBiz website allows you to complete and submit a Statement of Change of Registered Agent online. This procedure includes the following steps:
Access your INBiz account.
Under “Online Services,” choose “Change of Registered Agent/Office.”
Choose your company and fill out the form.
Mail a Statement of Change of Registered Agent.
To send a Statement of Change of Registered Agent, first download the form from the Indiana Secretary of State’s website and fill it out.

There is no filing charge.
Send in your Biennial Business Entity Report.
If your Indiana biennial Business Entity Report filing date is approaching, you may take advantage of this filing to change your registered agent without having to complete extra paperwork. This is the most straightforward method of changing your registered agent, but it must be done during the filing time.
Make sure to include the information for your new registered agent on the report. Once you submit that report, your registered agent will be changed.
Articles of Amendment should be filed.
While it is not suggested, you have the option of changing your registered agent.
You may alter your registered agent by filing the Indiana Articles of Amendment to Articles of Organization or Articles of Incorporation. However, filing this paperwork costs $30, making it the most costly choice.
If you need to make any changes to your business registration other from replacing your registered agent, making those changes on the Articles of Amendment may be a viable alternative. If you merely wish to alter your registered agent, one of the other procedures indicated above is preferable.

Changing from an Individual Agent to a Registered Agent Service: While people (even a company’s own executives or employees) may operate as registered agents, they will be publicly listed in the state’s database. Registered agents must also be accessible at their office between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, which might be inconvenient. Business Expansion into New States: LLCs, corporations, and other formal business formations must have a registered agent in each state where they do business.
