USCIS said that this is part of its efforts to boost overall legal immigration system efficiency and minimise burdens.

The Biden Administration has announced intentions to extend premium processing for some of the most essential categories of green card applicants and some visa categories, especially those pertaining to the training of international students.

The extension of these categories would occur in stages, starting with expedited processing of EB-1 and EB-2 Green Card applications.

This is in addition to all Form I-140 petitions previously filed under the E13 classification for multinational executives and managers or the E21 classification for professionals with advanced degrees or exceptional ability seeking a National Interest Waiver (NIW), according to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

USCIS said that this is a part of its attempts to promote efficiency and decrease burdens within the legal immigration system as a whole.

USCIS said, “In March, we will extend premium processing to include select F-1 students seeking Optional Practical Training (OPT) and F-1 students seeking STEM OPT extensions who have a pending Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization.”

I-539, Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status, and I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, were among those suggested.

“It is suggested USCIS Expand premium processing to more employment-based green card applications, all work permit petitions, and temporary immigration status extension requests, enabling applicants to pay $2,500 to have their cases assessed within 45 days, the presidential advisory committee suggested.
